Merry Christmas!
Our November Crafted event was a soaring success! The community gathered in a barn in Englewood while Teresa prayed and Matt Weesner played music that surrounded the room. They were a voice of love and presence.
Some Thoughts
I don’t know about you, but for me life has felt like a tight string. I am working on my certification in Splankna therapy, meeting with cross-cultural friends, working the 3 Streams Institute at Wellspring Church, helping a friend restore her basement, tutoring an eighth grader who has never read the Bible, working at a coffee shop, and full time in seminary studying Spiritual Formation. I was reminded that sometimes life sounds like the beginning of a symphony when all the instruments play the “A cord” at once. It’s a cacophony! But eventually I felt the Lord say that my life will play music. If you haven’t had the chance, go see the Denver Symphony this season, this is your sign to go do it! I watched recently as the orchestra and the 3 person band “Time for Three” played the most epic sounds. In class, my professor recommended I read the book “The Sound of Life’s Unspeakable Beauty” by Martin Schleske. So far this book has been deeply meaningful.
Music heals and restores broken hearts while also draws out the imagination to remember what has been and catch a glimpse of what could be. It is a gift to have musicians and a community to enjoy the sounds with in the world. Pat Harrison has some words to offer about music! He shared them at the last event. That will be in a weekly reflection coming up.
Coming up in January
We are cozying up in the living room of two dear friends- Al and Jan Straarup as we hear the adventures of the New Jersey born missionary Carol Eliya!
Setting the Course – is about getting right about the new year through storytelling, reflection, and vision. Join conversations around sailboats with Carol Eliya, a missionary fresh from the Mediterranean Sea.
This workshop is a two-hour evening gathering the first Friday of January led by the cross-cultural Lebanese visionary, Carol Eliya. Carol will share a little part of her journey with sailboats as well as her travels around the Mediterranean with YWAM (Youth With a Mission). Walk away with a vision and some words to set your course straight for 2025.
“Disembark on a journey that only God can take you on. A time to surrender control, pride, and expectations for the year ahead in order to let the Captain steer the ship of your life in 2025.” – Carol Eliya
